Photo credit: Aria.mgmresorts.com When it comes to Las Vegas, Nevada, it's a city that requires little to no introduction. You may refer to the bustling city of bright lights and constant action as sin city or maybe, the city that never sleeps. Either way, Las Vegas is well known for many things; casinos, food and restaurants in abundance, classic and modern art work, exotic car racing, networking events, weekend getaways and more. In this post, I'll be showcasing a few of my favorite places to stay while in Vegas. If you are one of those people who think that hotel selection is not important, this post isn't for you! But if you enjoy quality food, amazing customer service, views of the Las Vegas strip, and comfortable pillows then click 'Read More' right now! Photo Credit: tripadvisor.com First up, The Aria Resort & Casino. This hotel tops the list for me, as it stays true to its parent company's (MGM Resorts) standard of luxury. This hotel is listed as a AAA Five Diamond resort and I concur. Staying at the Aria is more than some place to rest in between gambling & shopping. If you never leave the hotel, you can still have a great time on vacation. The hotel offers a full gym and spa that are both running at full service. The entertainment includes shows and performances from Cirque du Soleil and in-house entertainment, then you can check out the beautiful Park Theater that seats 5,200 people, or enjoy one of the plentiful restaurants available for your dining experience. I hear that the Jean Georges and Din Tai Fung restaurants are a must try! I had the pleasure of booking two different groups at the Aria since the pandemic started. Each group gave amazing feedback on the food and the cleanliness of the grounds and suites. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to their guests and typically go out of their way to make travelers feel at home. Now, like every business/establishment, there may be at least one bad apple in the bunch, but don't let that deter you from experiencing for the first time or maybe a repeat visit, to The Aria Resort & Casino. It is on brand for them to exhibit the highest quality of care and service. Now, let's talk about the rooms at the Aria Resort & Casino. If you were to ask me and your coins having no objections, it is definitely worth it to book a corner suite option. The corner suites offer an awesome view of the Las Vegas strip through floor to ceiling glass, for your viewing pleasure. All I am going to say about that glass is, just like you can see out, people can see in! With that said, enjoy the view! Photo Credit: thestrat.com The Stratosphere Hotel, Casino & Skypod is certainly a contender when it comes to higher end lodging. I say higher end and not luxury simply because I have experienced true luxury at other Vegas hotels and the Strat, as it's now referred to, has a couple of improvements to make before I label it a luxury hotel. With that said, let's get in to what makes the Strat a great place to stay while visiting Vegas. It's really the views for me. I like that they offer different bars and lounges that give a different vibe in each one. My favorite would be the Skypod bar, the 107 SkyLounge. This swanky atmosphere allows you to sip carefully crafted cocktails, enjoy an amazing 360 degree view of the city, while enjoying the intimate atmosphere. Definitely for the grown and seasoned crowd. Photo Credit: bestwestern.fr The Strat Hotel offers lovely suites with corner views similar to the Aria Hotel. However, I must advise that you confer with your travel agent or the hotel (if booking directly) that you want a view of the strip and not of the neighboring buildings. If this is not specified, the Strat considers a "view" to be a view.....of anything. Other than that, the Stratosphere Hotel gives all that Las Vegas has to offer; casino life, entertainment, good proximity to shopping, lodging, great food and drinks. You can't really go wrong with a stay at this hotel. Photo Credit: The Wynn Hotel & resort. Retrieved from Las Vegas Review Journal And last but certainly not least, we have the Wynn Hotel. Awww, the Wynn, what can I say? Well, I can start by saying that this is a luxury hotel. The turn down service, the room service and the care that the front desk and cleaning staff take is remarkable. Staying at the Wynn for the first time will be a Vegas experience to remember. Let's just get into the rooms and suites. Now, I do know people who live by the "I won't be in my room much, so who cares about luxury?" school of thought. Not me though! I don't care how much time or how little time I spend in my room, whenever I am in there, I want it to be nice and relaxing. Isn't that the whole point of vacationing; to relax, eat differently than you would at home and not have to clean up? Exactly! So let's talk about the Wynn's Panoramic Corner King Suite. Photo Credit: wynnlasvegas.com The Panoramic Corner King suite is a 692 sq ft room with a 55" 4K Smart T.V., bedside cell phone charger outlets, touch-screen lighting, room service and privacy controls and some of the best pillows my head has ever graced. These are the type details I expect at any hotel that claims to be a luxury hotel. Now for the pinky in the air and sandwiches without the crust eating crew, the Wynn hotel offers more of what you may love. The Spa services are unmatched and actually reasonably priced considering the luxurious experience they create. Definitely worth the money! The Wynn is also known for their 18-hole championship golf course. Now I am not a golf enthusiast and do not claim to know anything about the sport. However, those that enjoy a beautiful landscape that includes lush green grass, rushing streams and plenty of space, the Wynn is your home away from home. (Mask must be worn on the course at all times). Overall, Las Vegas has plenty of hotels and lodging for every level of tourist. These just happen to be a few I frequent and have had a pleasurable experience. If you happen to find yourself in Vegas, you may want to check out these recommendations.
